Pattern – subliminal order

Written by:

A pattern is created when a certain shape is repeated over a large area. The repetition creates subliminal order in an image, which pleases the viewer’s eye.

General tip

Look for pattern, even if it is a honeycomb on your breakfast table.

How you can take a similar image

Lens: Macro lens.

Settings: Small aperture. Low ISO. One or two flashes, preferably off-camera.

Warning: You will only be able to take one image because the bees will fly away when the flash goes off. So make sure of your settings. Bees are quite irritable little things when it comes to flash lights and can get aggressive.
